Kokusai 21 International Hotel

Very nice quality hotel with a beautiful lobby and restaurants. The staff spoke English well. The room was well kept and clean.

The bed, though large, was quite uncomfortable. The hotel is also a bit far from Nagano Station. Walkable, but not convenient.

Good location. The free shuttle to the station was very punctual & the room was very quiet and spacious.

It is dated and in need of maintenance. A toilet in the buffet room malfunctioned & gave me an unwanted shower. Several walls and furniture needed paint & fixing. In the breakfast buffet they had only 2 people to attend all the guests & refill the stations. Food was just ok in comparison with other 8 hotels were we stayed prior to this one.

Rooms were spacious. Being able to open the window was a plus.

The room decoration was a bit dated.

The room was very comfortable, well-equipped, and had everything we needed. The on-site coin laundry was extremely convenient, especially when traveling with children.One afternoon, we were stranded in Togakushi with two kids and couldn’t find any taxi back. We contacted the hotel, and the staff went above and beyond to help us find transportation and truly rescued us from a very difficult situation. We were deeply grateful for their kindness and effort.We also had to check out very early in the morning, and the staff were very helpful and accommodating, making the process smooth and stress-free.Overall, the room was cozy, the view was beautiful, and the facilities were complete. The warm and caring service made our stay truly memorable.

The food options were somewhat limited, and the menu felt a bit repetitive during our stay.In room 1523, the lighting system was not independent enough, which made it difficult for me to work while the children were already asleep.The laundry area was located quite far from our building, so I had to walk back and forth between buildings several times to switch between washing and drying machines, which was a bit inconvenient.

It’s a beautiful hotel and the room was quite large, giving us plenty of space. Very quiet. Staff was very friendly.

The hardest bed we’ve ever slept on. It was ultra firm, almost like sleeping on the floor. We did not sleep well and were in pain each morning. Also - the breakfast had almost nothing for vegetarian/vegan diners. Only rice and salad. Was very disappointed.

Outdated hotel. The breakfast has a very limited choices, the room is small, with uncomfortable beds.The only positive aspect of our stay was the shuttle to Nagano station.

The facility, room, and common spaces were beautiful and elegant. The breakfast buffet was outstanding with plentiful variety and delicious offerings. The hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. I liked everything about the hotel, with the only exception being the location and distance from the train station.

The location issue could have been resolved had I known more readily about the free shuttle. The promotion of that option for the arriving guest should be emphasized. I would have utilized it.

Very nice place to stay. Clean and comfortable. It's a bit dated, and showing some age, but is well enough maintained to be suitable.

Shuttle service to the station could start earlier.

Staff was nice

Toilet seat cover was broken, there was a very loud portable air conditioner in the room and though we had asked for a room with a view, on the 10f our primary view was of the taller building 30 meters away.

The staff was very friendly and professional. The hotel offers free shuttle service to the Metro station and has many restaurant options.

The hotel needs a little maintenance. The air conditioner wasn’t at its 100%, and there was a leak in the bathroom.

Room was a bit humid.

Don Don, the Italian restaurant was excellent.The Chinese restaurant was even better. Possibly the best and freshest Chinese food I have ever eaten.

The distance from the city centre, but there is a shuttle bus to the station.It was a bit expensive, but you pay for what you get and I think the ambience and good points justified the price. I would stay here again just for the food and the room was large and well appointed.

The hotel offered good value and comfort. Our adult daughter was traveling with us so we selected a triple room with a city view. The room had ample space and a large bathroom with vanity space. The room was well arranged with a desk, closet, shelf space, refrigerator, safe, and the view as promised. We had dinner at the hotel's Italian restaurant and the meal was exceptional. We opted to include the breakfast buffet which is served in the same restaurant. The buffet had a large selection offering both western and traditional items. Self-parking on-site was a bonus.

This hotel was in downtown and the immediate area seemed to be more business oriented, so it did not really support being out in the neighborhood in the evening.

The hotel shuttle to onsens and bus station was very convenient. We also booked a tour that picked up at the lobby of Kokusai21.

There was only 1 key to for our room. Not a big deal, we just coordinated a bit more on time among our party so no one would be stuck waiting for someone to open the room.
